Racism is deeply rooted in our culture. It is so widespread that it normalizes and perpetuates historical practices within a society structured on inequality, favoring some over others.
It is not enough “not to be racist”, it is necessary for society to identify racist practices and recognize the advantages gained from a system historically harmful to some groups, in order to stop reproducing them.
For this reason, we are going to support Afro-Brazilian organizations from any region of Brazil that develop and implement initiatives focused on combating racism and discrimination, which the black population faces on a daily basis.
The resources made available by Grupo Carrefour Brasil may only be destined to:
● Campaigns and social awareness actions to combat racism;
● Creation of anti-racist content;
● Anti-racist actions and projects;
● Actions and projects that value black identity and culture.
Registration is open to any civil society Afro-Brazilian organization, created and managed by black people and with a proven track record of least one year. Proven experience in projects related to racial issues, focusing on the black population, is expected.
For the purposes of this notice, “organizations” are understood to be any association, non-profit organization and movements/collectives/groups of people organized to act in the above-mentioned cause.
Registration closed on June 30, 2021.
